Mark Chitjian
Growing up on Long Island, Mark started his musical studies at age 11 on accordian. Deciding that accordian was not that cool, he switched to sax 10 years later. He has played in various jazz bands and community bands in New York City and Long Island. Currently Mark works at IBM Poughkeepsie as a CAD/CAM engineer. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering 1976 from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and is currently studying for an MS in Management of Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. When not studying or playing music he enjoys worldwide communication via ham radio.Instruments: alto, tenor, baritone saxes, clarinet, flute Some favorite musicians: Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan Residence: Hopewell Junction with wife Joanne
